Spring Forward in Marseille! Toastmasters District 59 Conference is an educational and entertainment event accompanied by several social activities that have been catered with love by our hosting team at Toastmasters Marseille. These include a ‘Meet and Greet’ welcome reception and some visits after the closing . As these activities do not belong to the Conference itself, separate fees may apply. There are tight deadlines so check, register and pay quickly!

OPTION T1 Escale Borely – Marseille – 7:30pm-10:30pm. Social evening with aperitif and games (Pétanque, Table topics and Pastis). Registration is required, the payment is done on-site. Deadline for registration is 30th April. Website: https://escale-borely-marseille.com

OPTION T2 Le Petit Pavillon dinner – 7:00pm-10:00pm – A beautiful restaurant by the sea with a magnificent view & sunset in the terrace. If weather allows, there is a beach access from the restaurant. Traditional and fish specialities are inlcuded in the selected menu. Registration and payment in advance is required (39€ full menu including wine + 6€ for aperitif & coffee) – Deadline for registration is 30th April. Friday NIGHT on 10th May 2019

OPTION F1 R2 I Le Rooftop – 5:30pm-11:00pm – Good music, good food! – Enjoy an after conference drink while the sun goes to down into the sea and musicians or Djs play chill music on the R2 Marseille rooftop. Located in « Les Terrasses du Port », the brand new shopping centre, this rooftop bar offers a weekly programme : La Musicale on Fridays (a Soul Cabaret Party inspired by the Soul Train TV Show, Rock’n’roll is not Dead, French Clubbing or a concert of a headliner artist). OPTION F2 – Dinner at Bistrot 13B – 7:30pm-10:00pm– 13B reveals Le Bistrot Mediterranean cuisine with numerous trips of the owner. Le place reflects this mixture of cultures with an emphasis on natural materials decoration, colonial style with accents of southern France. Registration is required, the payment is done on-site. OPTION F3 – 7:30pm-10:00pm – Dinner at Café Bovo : Provençal cuisine – Fresh products with controlled designation of origin, near the old harbour just in front of the Opera. OPTION F4 – 7:30pm-10:00pm – Dinner at Madame Jeanne. In the heart of Marseille, in a modern decor, Madame Jeanne offers healthy Mediterranean cuisine, with a craft spirit, which favours short circuits. Excellent food and wine pairings (beautiful cellar of nearly 500 references). Tasty and well tied. Deadline for registration is the 2nd May. OPTION F5 – 8:00pm-11:00pm – Dinner Chez Fonfon. Fishes, seafood and traditional bouillabaisse. This is one of the most famous city’s seafood restaurants is a “Must do” during any stay in Marseille. A Bouillabaisse is a seafood specialty to be enjoyed first as a soup appetizer and then served as a main course with whole fish, croutons and the world famous “rouille”. Last Day Activities Sunday 12th May 2019 (2pm – 6pm)

While the District officers will be having lunch in the same venue and attending the orientation training. The other participants can choose from the following options:

OPTION S2 – Guide hiking tour in the “Calanques” national park. Sumptuous cliffs, beautiful landscapes, and heart-stopping ridges that drop onto the Mediterranean coastline sprinkle the narrow beaches. Definitely a one-of-a-kind location. The Calanques spread out across almost 20 kilometres between Marseille and Cassis. Majestic limestone cliffs form white peaks, rolling across the edges of kilometres of pine forests; mosaic walls (Soubeyranes), archipelagos (Frioul and Riou), and magnificent islands (Marseille, la Ciotat, the Iles Vertes) are a feast for the eyes.
